IHG Hotels & Resorts is significantly expanding its presence across the United Kingdom by adding eight new properties to its portfolio, ranging from London to Leeds and other key locations. The expansion will introduce more than 900 rooms under various IHG brands, including Hotel Indigo and Crowne Plaza. With these additions, IHG’s U.K. and Ireland portfolio will grow beyond the 360 properties already in operation.
The new hotels reflect IHG’s strategic growth in the region and strengthen its position as a leading choice for both hotel owners and guests. “This growth is powered by our strong enterprise which positions IHG as the first choice for owners as well as the guests we welcome, and colleagues who work with us,” said Joanna Kurowska, IHG’s vice president and managing director for the U.K. and Ireland. She further emphasized the company’s focus on innovation, technology, and enhancing guest experiences through the IHG One Rewards loyalty program.
One of the most anticipated openings is the Holiday Inn Express London – Woolwich, set to open in late 2029. This property will occupy a five-story office building in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, offering 265 rooms. It will serve as a flagship for the Holiday Inn Express brand in London.
Additionally, IHG will continue to build on its London presence with the Voco London – Marylebone, which opened last year in the vibrant and stylish Marylebone neighborhood. This property features 93 guest rooms and adds to the growing portfolio of IHG’s upscale offerings in the capital.
These new properties are set to strengthen IHG’s position in the U.K. and further enhance its range of offerings, ensuring diverse options for travelers across the country.
