Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality chain, is expanding its presence with plans for 100 new locations in FY2025. This includes 74 hotel signings and 26 openings, bringing the total number of IHCL hotels to 380.
Ms. Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development at IHCL, shared that last year the company signed a record 74 hotels, with over 95% of these being capital-light. This has led to an impressive pipeline of 137 hotels. She emphasized that IHCL’s strong brand presence across various market segments, along with high demand, has fueled this growth.
As part of the company’s “Accelerate 2030” strategy, many of the new signings are under the Gateway and Ginger brands, which cater to the growing upscale and midscale markets in India. Ginger, for example, has now surpassed 100 hotels, and Vivanta has reached 50+ locations.
IHCL also focused on international growth, particularly the Taj brand, with new properties in Bahrain and Ras Al Khaimah. These additions add over 800 keys to IHCL’s portfolio and strengthen its foothold in the Middle East.
