Travelodge has announced the acquisition of 11 hotels across the UK, significantly boosting its expansion efforts. The move brings the brand’s total UK portfolio to nearly 600 hotels, with plans to open an additional 300 locations nationwide.
Nine of the newly acquired properties were previously Hotel Campanile sites, offering a combined total of 951 rooms. Five of these hotels were acquired freehold, while four are under long leasehold agreements. The hotels are spread across major cities, including Birmingham, Bradford, Dartford, Leicester, Liverpool, Manchester, Northampton, Milton Keynes, and Swindon.
Additionally, Travelodge has exchanged contracts on two more properties: a former Ibis hotel in Bromsgrove and the independent CitiLodge in Wakefield. The Bromsgrove hotel, with 43 rooms, is currently undergoing a full refurbishment and is expected to open in May under a new 25-year lease. The Wakefield property, offering 74 rooms, will be rebranded as Travelodge and is set to open in August after conversion work is completed.
