In celebration of its 30th anniversary, Millennium Hotels and Resorts (MHR), Singapore’s largest homegrown hotel operator and a global hospitality leader, has renewed its partnership with Community Chest (ComChest), pledging S$1 million in donations over the next three years to support vulnerable communities in Singapore.
Having been a partner of ComChest since 2023, MHR’s new pledge includes a S$500,000 donation in 2025, followed by annual contributions of S$250,000 in 2026 and 2027. These funds will support ComChest’s initiatives focused on children with special needs and at-risk youth. Additionally, MHR will continue to back ComChest’s Change for Charity program, which funds over 200 critical social service projects across the country.
Beyond financial support, Millennium Hotels and Resorts has been committed to inclusive hiring practices since 2022. The company actively employs individuals with disabilities and ensures that department heads are trained to understand their specific needs. Roles are tailored to match each team member’s strengths, and to support their integration into the workplace, employees are paired with experienced ‘work buddies’ and offered flexible hours to ease the transition.
Kwek Leng Beng, Executive Chairman of City Developments Limited (CDL) and its hotel arm, Millennium Hotels and Resorts, shared, “What started as a homegrown hospitality group has now grown into a globally recognized brand, with Millennium Hotels and Resorts spanning four continents. As we celebrate this important 30-year milestone, we take pride not just in our global expansion but also in our commitment to giving back. Our renewed partnership with ComChest underscores our dedication to making a lasting difference in society by providing sustainable support to children and youth in need.”
