IHG Hotels & Resorts and ISPT are excited to announce the upcoming opening of InterContinental Brisbane, a transformative project that will turn one of the city’s most iconic buildings into a world-class hotel and dining destination.
Opening in late June, InterContinental Brisbane will be the result of a long-term management agreement with ISPT, a leading property funds manager and developer of the 150 Elizabeth Street precinct, where the hotel is located. The property will undergo a major conversion from the former Hilton Brisbane, becoming a proud member of the world’s first and largest luxury hotel brand.
Located in Brisbane’s CBD on Elizabeth Street and connected to the vibrant Queen Street Mall, this will be the only hotel in Australia designed by renowned architect Harry Seidler, celebrated for his Modernist architectural legacy. ISPT’s vision for the precinct will seamlessly integrate the hotel with Wintergarden and the Regent Theatre, creating a dynamic hub that blends retail, dining, entertainment, and hospitality.
The two-year transformation will enhance the hotel’s luxury experience, embracing innovation, diversity, and cultural discovery, while preserving the iconic elements of Seidler’s original design. The finished property will feature 321 elegantly appointed guest rooms with panoramic views of the Brisbane skyline, four exceptional restaurants and bars, and expansive conference and event facilities.
